Mangaluru: District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai laid foundation for district Minority Bhavan in Pandeshwar on Saturday.

MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza and deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim were also present at the foundation ceremony.

Meanwhile teachers and students of Kerala Samajam School, members of Adi Dravida Samaja Seva Sangha objected the foundation for minority bhavan along with the locals.

According to School staff the land used for minority bhavan was the playground used by the school children and the locals. The members of the sangha had requested the district administration to reserve the land for constructing community hall.

As per the demands of Sangha the district administration agreed to thier demands but now we are cheated, complained one of the members. Already one crore has been sanctioned for the minority bhavan and the district administration has not even approached MCC to get no objection certificate.

Police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.
