Udupi : Raghupathi Bhat, former legislator of Udupi has come out in the open to express his resentment over the new Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj of the Congress.

Speaking to reporters here on October 4, Friday, the former MLA alleged that the present MLA Madhwaraj was inaugurating various developmental projects which were actually initiated during his tenure. I am not even extended an invitation for the inaugural, Bhat lamented and accused Pramod Madhwaraj of taking credit for the works taken up during his tenure as MLA.

He at the same time pointed out that many projects  for which funds were sanctioned during his tenure have not yet been completed and alleged that the present MLA was only spending time in accepting pleas from the public and was not showing any interest in visiting  places where project works were underway.

He also complained that several works like Malpe-Padukere bridge, road construction from Syndicate circle to DC office, Ambagilu to Kalsanka, and Malpe Balaram road to Thottam road for which Rs 30 crores have been sanctioned, are incomplete.

Even the cricket stadium works at Beedinagudde have not started, he alleged. Yet another complaint  by the former MLA was pertaining to the kerosene subsidy provided to fishermen. He said if the fishermen used to get 400 litres earlier, now they do not get even 200 liters of subsidized kerosene.

BJP leaders Panduranga, MR Rai, Yashpal Suvarna were also present at the press meet.
