Rachana global convention ‘Magnet-2014’, prompts young entrepreneur

Mangalore: The one-day international convention ‘Magnet-2014’, which is hosted by Rachana was inaugurated on April 6 at TMA Pai International Convention Centre.

President of RACHANA Ivan D’Souza welcomed the gathering.  Chairman of the programme Walter D’Souza unveiled Magnet-2014′.  Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius D’Souza inaugurated the convention along with other dignitaries on the dais.

The event also featured 12 eminent speakers from across the world. They are scheduled to address the students and educate delegates on a wide range of entrepreneurially relevant topics from IT to green start ups.

The former Chairman and CEO of Uniliver-Peru, South America Richard Saldanha in his address said that in an enterprise brand must be built to expand and construct international business.

Adding to his significance he asserted that India delivers strong brands, wherein India is known to be a brand leader. We have potential, but potential is of no use unless it becomes kinetic. Potential means nothing; it is ability without action, he added.

Bishop Dr Aloysius D’Souza in his presidential address stated that an entrepreneur must be motivated, and such an initiative done by Rachna is commendable. Moreover he also stated that in this global age, credit corporate societies can help young entrepreneur, thus I urge that if a businessman has an idea he must be encouraged, he said.

Magnet-2014 aims at providing a platform for a mutually beneficial business interaction between Mangalorean businessmen and Entrepreneurs across the world and to create an awareness of the potential for international business and motivate catholic entrepreneurs to think big. It also aims at creating a corpus for a “Rachana Venture Capital Fund” and the “Rachana Industrial Credit Cooperative Society” to boost entrepreneurship in Mangalore.

Over 500 delegates have already registered for the event and the organisers are expecting more registrations.

The Rachana World Convention Office was inaugurated and the brochure released by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dr M Veerappa Moily earlier on January 19.
