Puttur: Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple, Puttur has served a notice to its temple priest and religious guide Ravish Thantri Kuntaru.

The reason behind the notice is the fact that Thantri had contested for the polls from Kasargod Assembly segment. Citing this as a possible impediment for the functioning of the temple, the Executive Officer of Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple served a notice to Thantri suggesting as to why his position in the temple should not be given to someone else.

Though the notice was sent to him on May 13, it came to light only on May 23.

Thantri was to reply to the notice within 10 days.
