Mangalore : In a tragic incident, a student of Expert PU College at Valachil who was admitted to the institution just three days ago, has reportedly ended her life by hanging herself in her hostel room. She  reportedly chose the extreme step on June 24, Tuesday night. The suicide came to light only on Wednesday morning.

The girl named Mahima (17), daughter of Rajendra and Nitya from Kollegal in Chamrajnagar is suspected to have ended her life due to depression arising out of homesickness.

Sources said her friends saw her crying on Tuesday night and that she told them that she was missing her parents.

A book found in the room in which she had written some notes and also her experience in the college  revealed that she was happy  and had made friends. She had also written that she was missing her parents. The Kankanady police are investigating. The girl’s parents have been  informed about the tragedy.
