Pro-Hindu activists term State Government as anti-Hindu

Mangaluru: Several pro-Hindu activists under the banner of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Hindu Jagarana Vedike staged a protest here in the city on Friday, condemning the state government for invoking the Goonda Act against one of its members.

Addressing the protesters, M.B Puranik said “Invoking the Goonda Act against our member is  a strategy by the State government to curb our voice. The government is appeasing the minorities, while it is suppressing the Hindus. There is no action being taken against cow slaughter, he said

Satyajit Surathkal condemned the State governments for being biased, and for targeting pro-Hindu activists. He gave the example of notorious rowdy sheeter Rashid Malbari, who has jumped bail. The government should have invoked the Goonda Act on him, he said.

MLC Monappa Bhandary said the police are working as agents of the congress. On Nanditha’s mysterious death in Thirthahalli, he attacked government for protecting the culprits.

MLC Ganesh Karnik, Ravishankar Mijar, Sharan Pumpwell, Kishore Kumar, Bhujanga Kulal, Jagadish Shenava and others were present.
