Mangalore : The under-trials at the district jail attacked policemen and jail staff here on June 8 as a opposition against the shifting of two notorious criminals to Dharwad jail.

It is said that Barke police along with ACP and the jail officials had come to pick Faisal and Falak, noted criminals to shift to Dharwad jail.

Reportedly when the officals were about to leave the jail, around 30 angry undertrails attacked and also threw a TV, eggs, tomatoes, chilli powder, glass items at the officials.

ACP Tilakchandra, SI Shariff, inspector Maledevar were seriously injured. Jail officials and under-trails were also injured.

Due to this attack, Faisal and Falak were shifted back to district jail.
