Prisoner who was out on parole escapes

Bantwal:A complaint has been lodged at the Bantwal town station stating that a convict who was undergoing life imprisonment and was out on parol had escaped.

As per the complaint, the missing convict is Isubu Molar alias Yusuf Musliyar, a resident of Rengelu near Melkar in Panemangalore. He had been arrested  in the case of murdering his second wife Mariamma  in the year 2005 after stripping her and  dumping her body in Phalguni river at Gurupur in Bajpe police station limits.  The Bajpe police who had arrested him had filed a charge sheet  after registering a case against him under IPC Section 302 and 201.

The Mangalore Sessions Court which  took up the case, had sentenced the man to life imprisonment. Isubu who was later lodged in Belgaum jail had arrived hometown on July 20 on a 45 day parol  on the pretext that his mother was ill. But Isubu who was supposed  to return to the prison on September 4 has escaped.

The jail superintendent has lodged a complaint with Bantwal Police on September 7. Police have  presently  launched a manhunt to nab the convict.
