Kasargod : Kasargod Police have arrested one of the kingpins of a drugs racket who was responsible for smuggling ganja to various states including Kerala.

The arrested man is Shaji Monu alias P Suresh (42) of Idukki. A special police team from Kasargod  arrested him from Idukki. Police said he has over 15 drugs peddling cases registered against him.

Police have also gathered information that  he had supplied as much as four quintals of Ganja in Kasargod during the past one year. It is learnt he used to get ganja from Andhra Pradesh. Police said  Suresh was well versed in various languages including Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu and was known by different names in different places.

One of his aides  was arrested at Bevinje with 110 kg ganja a few months ago. It is learnt he used to steal vehicles and then smuggle the ganja to various places.
