Mangalore: Kodagu District Additional Deputy Commissioner Prasanna H has been appointed as the new MCC Commissioner on Wednesday July 16.

MCC Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde is on a 15-day-training at Hyderabad and Hegde had handed over all the charges to Joint Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak. However, on Wednesday morning, Prasanna took charge from Gokuldas Nayak.

Sources reveal that the officials from the CM’s office had asked the deputy commissioner to wait before taking the charges, although even before it would be communicated, the new commissioner had taken in-charge.

About the new Commissioner

Prasanna H has served as the Assistant Commissioner at Basavakalyan in Bidar and Puttur in DK district before taking charge as the ADC for Kodagu. He has the credit of developing Basavakalyan and Balavana, when he was the Assistant Commissioner in Bidar and Puttur respectively.

A KAS officer of 2008 batch, he is a native of Kabbiganahalli in Chikmagalur district.
