Mangaluru: With repeated instances of political killings painting the political canvas of Kerala red, the Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajrang Dal has registered its opposition to the visit of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to Dakshina Kannada district to take part in public communal harmony rally.
Addressing the reporters on Monday, VHP Chief Prof M B Puranik said that the CPIM, in Kerala believes in finishing its rivals who hold contradicting ideologies and the CM of Kerala is from such a party.
“There have been 13 political killings in the CM’s home constituency and all of the targets have been those who have not agreed with the communist ideologies,” said Puranik adding that the whole purpose of inviting Vijayan to the rally is to spark communal hatred in the region.
“We do not mind any other person attending and inaugurating the programme, but we will not tolerate a person like Vijayan doing the same,” he said adding that the right wing outfits will hold a peaceful hartal opposing his visit on Februrary 25.
VHP leader Jagadish Shenava, Sharan Pumpwell among others were present.
