Kasargod: A policeman fell into a stream and washed away at Pallangod on Saturday July 18.

The policeman identified as Narayana Naik (52) was serving as assistant sub-inspector (ASI) at Kumble police station.

Naik, a resident of Adoor Noojibettu, got washed away on his way back home. It is learnt that Naik was trying to ride his bike over a sunken bridge, the bike skid and fell into the water. Within minutes he was washed away.

Fire service personnel and locals rushed to the spot and searched for Naik, but his body is yet to be found.
