Puttur: Bajarangdal district convener was allegedly assaulted by the manager of a hospital in Puttur on Saturday July 18.

According to Bhaskar Dharmasthal, a resident of Manjahithlu in Dharmasthala, his son was admitted at Pragathi specialty hospital when the assault took place.

Bhaskar’s son was suffering from typhoid; however he was discharged on Saturday. When Bhaskar asked for the bill on the counter the staff answered unconvincingly. Irked by this Bhaskar informed the matter to the manager of the hospital, Vital Rao.

An argument broke between the two and in a fit of rage Vital Rao assaulted Bhaskar, it is said. In retaliation the people who were accompanying Bhaskar thrashed Vital Rao. Both were later admitted to a hospital.

On getting the information police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control. Activists of Bajarangdal indulged in an argument with the town police station inspector Mahesh Prasad.
