Karkala, Mar 26: A huge amount of explosives have been found in Nakre, Durga and Koti-Chennaya theme park at Karkala. Police found explosives such as 500 Gelitin stick, 700 electronics detonators, sun 90 excluse-500, 3 boxes of safety fuse, and 350 bags of ammonium nitrate in Kuntadi in Ashok Nagar.

The police have continued hunting for the accused Biju Thomas.

The operation was carried on under the supervision of ASP Annamalai. Probationary ASP Radhika,Police inspector G R Naikar, Rural ASI Ravi N N and other constables were also present.

BJP secretary of Karkala Mahaveera Hegde was shocked to see such huge amount of explosives in the region, which earlier have never been found in the state. He urged police to take action against it and further to find out the reason for storing explosives.

After the Congress rule; incidents related to the terrorism are rising. Adding to this, he said that the person who concealed the explosives might have links with the terrorists.

So, he urged police to take strict action against the accused, under data section and to arrest him.
