Mangaluru: Political blame game has continued as the date of elections approach in Karnataka. The Congress party continued a salvo of claims against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by accusing him of lying to the electorate.
Addressing the media at the DCC office in the city, Congress leader and former union minister R P N Singh, on May 7, alleged, “The prime minister has failed to fulfill the promises made to the people of the country. He continually lies on the claims of development in his speeches.
Referring to Modi’s speech in Mangaluru, RPN Singh said that the PM who belittles AICC President Rahul Gandhi for using papers during public speeches, had looked at the papers for more than 25 times in his speech in Mangaluru.
“In his 45-minute long speech, he only spoke about five minutes on development. The prime minister who promised employment opportunity for 2 crore youths in a year has failed to fulfil his promise”, he said criticising the contents of Modi’s speech.
Singh also alleged that the BJP, which provokes youth for the communal violence, would never wipe tears of their families. “Is this employment opportunity that rime minister promised to the youth?”, he questioned.
Singh further alleged that the largest number of cease fire violations on the Indo-Pak border have taken place during Narandra Modi’s government. “Why is the PM silent on cease fire violation by the Pakistan? What has he done to prevent it?”, Singh questioned.
Singh also claimed that Congress had five reasons as to why Yeddyurappa should not be made the chief minister. The prime minister should clarify as to why Yeddyurappa should be made the chief minister of Karnataka, he demanded.
