Exceptional SSLC results bring cheers in Belagavi and Chikkodi

Belagavi: SSLC results that were announced on May 7 brought joy to the parents as the students of Belagavi and Chikkodi educational districts have performed well in the examinations. After the dismal performance by the PUC students this year, the exceptionally good SSLC results have brought a ray of hope for these districts.

An official statement said that Chikkodi recorded a pass percentage of 87.01 and maintained the third position it had attained in the last year’s examinations. A total of 36,655 students appeared for SSLC examination from Chikkodi, out of which 31,893 have passed.

In an exceptional turnaround, Belagavi educational district which ranked 25th last year, improved its rank to 6th overall with 84.25 percent students making the cut. From Belagavi, 24,853 out of the 29,318 students who wrote the exam have cleared the examination.

Second rank to Belagavi’s M Kaif Mulla

Mohammad Kaif Mulla, a student of St. Xavier’s English Medium School secured second rank in the state with a score of 624 (99.84%) out of a total 625 marks.

His parents, who are teachers themselves, say that Kaif studied for 7 hours a day in the one month before the exam. He has been scoring top marks in school. He studies smartly by combining reading with discussions with friends and parents, they add.

When asked about his career goals, Kaif said that he would like to pursue studies in science and become a doctor. He also aspires to become an IAS officer and says he has already started preparing for it.

Disppointed at losing one mark, Kaif says he will apply for revaluation of science paper as he is confident of getting cent percent marks.
