Placement agency fleeces Gulf job seekers

Mangalore:Several people who have been  reportedly  promised a job by a placement agency in Mangalore, are now up in arms against the agency  for cheating. It is said one Mahesh Chandra who owned  the MITA Manpower Consultancy at Balmatta in Mangalore had collected lakhs of rupees from the job aspirants and had promised good jobs for them in  Afghanistan and Malaysia.

It is said he had sent them abroad giving fake visa and documents and that  11 of them have been arrested after their visiting visa period expired. There is information that they have not been provided the promised jobs.

On October 11, Friday, the family members of those cheated, gathered  at the Balmatta office of the firm and demanded justice.They even visited the Bunder police station to lodge a complaint. When contacted over phone, Mahesh Chandra  is learnt to have assured to fulfill his promise by October 21 and ensure justice
