Pillion rider dies in bike-lorry collision

Moodbidri: A pillion rider lost his life while the rider sustained injuries when a speeding lorry collided against their two-wheeler at Kodangallu near here on Thursday May 22.

The deceased is Ravi Nayak (34) of Kodyadka, who was engaged in the profession of cooking for   weddings and other functions. The accident occurred in the wee hours when Ravi along with  Jinendra Jain (22) was heading towards Gantalkatte where he had to cook for a house warming ceremony. He had left for Gantalkatte after duty at Mahaveer Bhavan the previous night.

It is learnt, the lorru laden with bore well pipes all of a sudden took a right turn and hit the bike killing Nayak on the spot. He  was married and has two children.

The injured bike rider is undergoing treatment at Alva’s Hospital. Moodbidri police have registered a case against the bike rider Kandippan of Tamil Nadu.
