Mangaluru: Pilikula Nisarga Dhama (Pilikula), a major eco-education and tourism development project promoted by the District Administration of Dakshina Kannada is all set for another face lift.
Former Executive Director and MLA J.R Lobo on Saturday spent more than half a day in Pilikula along with the Executive Director and other officers reviewing various developmental projects being undertaken in the park.
The review included the construction of the entrance gate, planetarium and artisan village
including other beautification, maintenance and construction of more facilities.
The huge entrance includes administrative building, tourism arrangement center, arrival plaza, ticketing, parking, souvenir shop, and a canteen. While, the planetarium aims to attract scientific temper.
Besides, the lane outside the biological park towards artisan village will have a broad roads, with footpath and a lot of greenery.
Another gate is being constructed at the Artisan village – which aims to create a complete ‘village’ atmosphere. The Artisan village will accommodate various schemes of the state and central government particularly Janapada Loka.
Lob said that we would like to make the Western ghats as the theme of the park.
