People of schedule caste given great respect in DK: M Shivanna

Mangalore: The Scheduled caste people in DK have been less discriminated compared to the other districts in the state and the district has shown 90% of progress in providing facilities to people of scheduled caste said, honorable. Member of National commission of Scheduled caste, Shri. M Shivanna.

Speaking to the media during his visit to the district toady, he said that the Dakshina Kannada district has achieved great success in upholding the rights of scheduled caste. I have visited 4 SC hostels in the district and the condition of them is satisfactory.

There are few areas of improvement but over-all the condition of scheduled caste people has improved beyond expectation, he added.

Review meeting held: 

A district level review meeting of the implementation of the facilities in various departments was held in the DC office toady. Shri. M Shivanna gave guidelines to officials of all the departments in regard to the scheduled caste.

DC N Prakash. ZP CEO Thulasi Maddineni, SP Abhishek Goyal and officials of various departments were present at the occasion.

Shri. M Shivanna is one of the members of the 5 member National commission for Scheduled castes. He was the MP of Chamarajnagar constituency in the 14th Lok Sabha and currently is in-charge of grievances of scheduled castes in 10 states.
