Mangaluru: The custom officers seized gold in the form of two cylindrical rod shaped objects totally weighing 583.300 grams worth Rs.15,71,944.

The gold was brought by passenger Sabir Berka(19), who arrived from Dubai on April 6 at Mangalore airport by Jet airways flight No.9W531 by concealing the rods in his rectum.

The passenger, a resident of Kasargod, Kerala was arrested and has been produced in the court.

Further investigation is under progress.
