Mangaluru: The officers of Customs at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold objects worth over Rs 12 lakhs from a passenger here on Friday.

According to the press release, the customs seized two numbers of ten tola gold bars and two numbers of rectangular gold objects totally weighing over 472 grams valued Rs 12.35 laks, brought by a passenger who arrived from Dubai. The passenger had brought this gold by concealing in his rectum, the release said.
The passenger Deepak Nachaldas Wadhwa (43) arrived at Mangalore International Airport by Jet Airways from Dubai. He is a resident of Ulhasnagar, Thane, Maharashtra.
Further investigation is under progress.
