“Parnd-Pelakai” and “Male Pataki”,released at Ravindra Kalakshetra

Managlore:The tulu books  “Parnd-Pelakai” and “Male Pataki”, written by Advocate Shashidhar Rao were released by Dr.Vivek Rai and Dr.Vamana Nandavara at Ravindra Kalakshetra of the University college, Hampankatta today.

The books were released in the unique way by the guests. 

Dr.Vivek Rai relesred the collection of Tulu poems, “Parnd Pelakai” book which was kept inside the Pelakai(Jackfruit) and Dr.Vaman Nandavara released the collection of Tulu Proverbs, “Male Pataki” wrapped with the Fire-Cracker envelope.

Crackers were burnt at the occasion marking the release.

Dr.Vamana speaking about the book “Male Pataki”, said, “A proverb is a weapon which can hit a person without any action or abuse. 

The book which contains 600 proverbs, all written by Shashidhar will be an asset to the Tulu culture and language”

He later briefed about the growth of the Tulu Proverb literature since 1882.

Eminent writer NA Mogasale,Rathnakar Rao Kavoor, Bhaskar Nellitheertha, magician Kudroli Ganesh were also present at the occasion.

After the formal ceremony, the students of Alva’s college enacted the drama “Ekadashanana” directed by Jeevanram Sullia.
