Mangaluru: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) organised a protest demanding the state government to handover the Panjimogaru double murder case to Special Investigation Team, citing that the CID which took up the probe five years ago has not made any breakthrough.
It may recalled that in the incident took place in broad daylight on June 28, 2011, Razia (32), wife of P Hameed, a scrap trader and her daughter Fathima Zuha (7) were stabbed to death by unidentified assailants.
In the protest near the DC office, Munir Katipalla, State President of DYFI said that since from five years CID had failed to make any breakthrough in the case. “In the district, several cases have been handed over to the CID but the progress is zero. The real culprit should be brought to book. During previous elections MLA Moideen Bhava had assured of providing justice to the family and despite being close to the chief minister, he has failed to do so. If he continues to fail, in the coming days, DYFI will hold protest in front of his residence along with the family members of the victim”, he added.
DYFI District President Imtiyaz also spoke in the protest.
