Moodbidri: Alva’s Pragati, largest job fair in Karnataka which got off to a grand start for its 6th edition here at Vidyagiri had a participation of 272 companies. 
Prominent companies that are participating include Oracle,  IBM, TCS, Amazon, Biocon, Adani group, Flipkart, TechMahindra,  Taj Group, ICICI Bank, Wipro, TVS,  AllCargo, Standard Chartered Bank, Axis Bank, Kirloskar Electric, Idea, Vodafone, Reliance, Suzlon, Ericsson, Manipal Group and  Wonderla.

Highlights of Alva’s Pragati 2015:

Idea cellular shortlisted about 75 BE candidates for Network Engineer positions.
Kirloskar electric hired for BE (Elec/ Mech) candidates along with Diploma and ITI candidates.
TCS hired B.sc/ BCA candidates.
Standard chartered bank hired B.com candidates and offered a package of upto Rs 6 lakhs.
NMC hired graduates with a package of upto Rs 4.8 lakhs.
JCR drillsol hired Mechanical engineers package of Rs 2 lakhs pa.
Amazon has hired graduates for Catalog Specialist.
Suzlon SE blades have shortlisted about 15 B.E (Mech) graduates.

The mela witnessed online registration of 13,382 candidates and 1153 students did spot registration on Day 2.  2,289 Students were shortlisted on day 1 and  2,614 on day 2. As many as 4,903 students were shortlisted and 622 candidates were offered spot offers on both the days.

A special feature of Alva’s Pragati, many candidates bagged multiple offers at companies over the 2 days. The highlight was a candidate Sarvesh N Rao son of Sadashiva N Rao and Saroja DS from Kashipattna, Shirthady, who has secured 7 job offers at Just Robotics, Biocon, Medizinca, Transasia, Pearson and 2 BPO’s.
