Offender Caught Smuggling Case Gold Worth Over 40 Lakhs in MIA

It was discovered that a traveller arriving at Mangalore International Airport on May 5 from Dubai was smuggling gold valued at Rs 40,40,220. The 578 grams of 24-carat gold that was taken into custody was valuable.

The passenger attempted to illegally transport valuable gold valued at millions of rupees. He was a resident of Mogral Puttur in the Kasargod district. When police investigated him after developing suspicions, they found three oval objects buried inside his body that were meant to be smuggled gold.

After being taken into custody, the passenger is presently being questioned.
