Bantwal:  Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Odiyoor  has  called upon Tuluvas to be cautious about the  implementation  of a hazardous project   called Netravathi River Diversion  which is now known by another name called Yettinahole project.

Speaking to reporters at Odiyoor on February 2, Sunday evening, he said it is a tragedy that there was a need for a movement  to  strive for the protection of the language, culture and resources of Tulunad.  Water flows into low lying areas as is the rule of nature. But changing the course of a river and diverting it towards an area of higher altitude is illogical, the seer said.

Several projects which have already set foot in the district have  led to destruction of natural resources. It is not suffice if only a few fight against them. Each and every one has to join this movement to fight against the river diversion project. Even the media must create an awareness, he said.

He also urged the government to reconsider the project.
