Mangaluru: Following water scarcity in the city, a few medical colleges have declared holidays for the students.
In Thumbay dam, water level has decreased to 5.9 ft due to which water crisis has hit the city.
Students from across the state pursuing their studies in the city, have vacated their hostels and are moving to their home towns.
Prestigious medical colleges like KMC and Father Muller’s have made arrangements to send the hostel dwelling students to their homes due to water shortage.
There are over 3,000 students in 7 hostels of KMC hospital. Following acute water scarcity, the management has decided to send the students home temporarily.
Father Muller’s college too has declared holidays temporarily.
It is learnt that more colleges in the city will be taking similar decisions soon.
