No lecturers : Govt Womens College students take to streets

Mangalore : Students of  the Government Womens First Grade College at Balmatta in Mangalore took to the streets on June 25, Tuesday to protest against the non-appointment of lecturers. The students demanded that lecturers be appointed immediately. The protest was organised under the leadership of ABVP.


Speaking on the occasion, Rakshitha, a student of the college, said students were hit hard since the past 12 days as not even a single class has been conducted for want of teachers. She said the government which had invited applications through online for appointment  of guest lecturers, has so far not appointed any guest lecturer to their college.

She said though college has commenced on June 17, no classes have been conducted till date.

ABVP State Secretary Ramesh also spoke. The students who took out a procession from Jyothi Circle to DC office, later submitted a memorandum to the Education Minister through the Deputy Commissioner.
