Bantwal : A person lost his life after a car rolled into a gorge at Padekallu in Karopady village on March 24, Monday. The deceased is CH Lakshminarayana Bhat (59), Chief Auditor at NMPT.

The mishap occurred when he was on way to Mangalore from his ancestral home which he used to visit once a week. Bhat used to stay with his wife in Mangalore. A  domestic help of his house who noticed the car which had fallen into a 20 feet deep gorge from the  kutcha road of his  land, just 50 meters away from his house, informed others.   By the time he was rescued, Bhat who had sustained serious injuries on his head and other parts of the body, head breathed hi last.

A case has been registered.Circle inspector Rajashekhar Mistri, Sub Inspector Raghavendra TR and others visited the spot.
