Mangaluru: A newly constructed road near Surya Narayana temple, Maroli was inaugurated by Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo along with MP Naleen Kumar Kateel today, on April 16.

The road is said to be constructed in a span of 15 days at Rs 2.50 crore under SFC and 14th finance grants. It included widening and tarring of 24 feet wide road for a stretch of almost one km.
J R Lobo who had taken the initiative along with the city corporation of getting the road work done, spoke on the occasion and thanked contractor M G Hussein who had completed the whole work of widening and construction of road within a short span of 15 days.
“Surya Narayana temple is an ancient temple which was renovated recently. Bramhakalashotsava will be held from tomorrow. I wish that this temple becomes a tourist attraction in the coming days. I thanks all the people who contributed in developing this road,” he said.
Member of Parliament Naleen Kumar Kateel said, “This road connects two National Higways. Thanks to all people involved in this cause, specially MLA J R Lobo, under whose leadership the work got completed in a short span.”
Mayor Harinath, Corporator Keshav Maroli, Congress leader T K Sudhir, Vinayraj and others were present.
