Newly built Infant Mary church inaugurated in Bajjodi

Mangaluru: The newly built Infant Mary church was inaugurated and blessed here on January 2 in Bajjodi.

Mangalore Bishop Rev Fr Aloysius Paul Dsouza, provincial superior of the Carmelites of Karnataka-Goa province Fr Charles Serrao OCD, Rev Fr Charles Serao, Bendoor church parish priest Rev Fr Antony Serao, Carmel hill head Rev Fr Joe Tauro, Rev fr Archbald Gonsalvis, Rev Fr Pius James Dsouza, many priests and religious heads, contractor Lancy Mascarenhas, Engineer George, Architect Lawrence Cutinha inaugurated the newly built church at the presence of thousands of devotees.

After the solemn mass the new building was blessed by the Bishop. The statue of Bambina Mary has been installed in the church for her miracles.

Bishop, on the occasion said that Fr Melvin D’Cunha has put in a lot of effort for building this beautiful church and also thanked the donors who contributed in raising the fund for the church.

Rev Fr Melwyn D’Cunha has been appointed as first parish priest.

Contractor Lancy Mascarenhas, engineer George, Architect Lawrence Cutinha and other sponsors were felicitated.

Local corporator Keshava M was also present.
