Mangaluru: Bhushan Gulabrao Borase took charge as superintendent of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada on Monday, May 23 from outgoing SP and his batchmate Dr S D Sharanappa.

Addressing the gathering Borase said that Dr Sharanappa has set the bars high and that he would strive to continue the good work.

He said that he would soon bring in whatsapp number for public use where the general public could send details of crime and even photographs, which would help the police in functioning in an efficient manner.

Dr S D Sharanappa has been transferred as the deputy commissioner of police, south division Bengaluru city, while Borase was CID SP. He had also served as SP of Mandya and ASP of Kalaburagi.

Borase is a 2009-batch IPS officer from Maharashtra. Borase did his engineering in Pune and later obtained M Tech from NIT Jamshedpur.
