New lease of life for woman through complex Hip surgery at Indiana Hospital

Mangaluru: Indiana Hospital & Heart Institute Ltd have successfully performed a complex Hip Replacement on 46 years old Janet Telis under the care of Dr. Vijay Mohan Budnar & Dr. Naveen Chandra Alva.
Janet’s hip problem started in her teens. She has struggled due to severe hip joint destruction for about 30 years. She has been in pain throughout with about 4 inch of shortening in left leg and complete loss of movement. She had consulted various hip surgeons but had been advised not to have surgery either because it’s very complex and usually not successful. She was considering treatment from Mumbai / Bangalore but due to the help of Priya, who liaised with Dr. Vijay Budnar, Joint Replacement Specialist (Specialist trained in London for Arthroplasty) & Dr Naveen Chandra Alva, Chief Orthopedic Department, the patient underwent a successful HIP Replacement procedure at Indiana Hospital on 20th January 2016. It was a very complex surgery for which she got financial assistance from Yeshaswini, Karnataka government health scheme.

Janet is grateful for the relief from pain and increase in leg length. She regrets not undergoing the surgery earlier, but thankful for the doctors of Indiana hospital who have helped her regain her independence and a chance to lead a better life with her 2 children and husband.
