Kasargod: Traffic remained disrupted on the Kasargod-Mangalore National Highway near the Manjeshwar check-post for the third successive day on Friday July 11 owing to the  confusion that arose due to a new rule  enforced by the Kerala Sales Tax Department.

Presently buses proceeding from Kasargod travel upto Uppala and  buses from Mangalore travel upto Manjeshwar owing to the confusion. The worst hit are the passengers, particularly school and office goers. The confusion has arisen owing to the enforcement of the new rule of the State Sales Tax Department making it mandatory to submit declaration files at check-posts for  goods vehicles from other states which enter Kerala.

This has left hundreds of goods lorries from various states stranded at the check-post  disrupting traffic on the Mangalore-Kasargod National Highway wince three days.
