Netravathi Rakshana Samithi performs ‘Nadi Pooja’

Bantwal: The Karavali Jeevanadi Netravathi Rakshana Samithi performed a ‘Nadi Pooja’ ritual at the Netravathi River in Bantwal with the dedication to fight against the proposed Yettinahole project on Tuesday January 14.

Karavali Jeevanadi Netravathi Rakshana urging the government to drop he Yettinahole project and performed  the ‘Nadi Pooja’ which was conducted by Sri Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Sri Subrahmanya Mutt.

Addressing the gathering Sri Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji said projects involving diversion of rivers are not feasible and will prove catastrophic for nature.

He insisted the government to discard the project that has invited the ire of people of the region.

Vijaykumar Shetty, former MLA of Suratkal in his address  requested the Chief Minister to drop  the project. Prof. SG Mayya, MG Hegde, social activist and several others were present and addressed the gathering.
