Kasargod: City based doctors who went missing after massive earthquake hit Nepal, have been confirmed dead.

The bodies of Dr Irshad(23) from Kasargod and Dr Deepak(23) from Kannur have been kept in the mortuary at a teaching hospital in Kathmandu and the relatives have identified the bodies.
Irshad’s brother Liyaqath and Deepak’s relatives who went to Kathmandu identified the bodies with the help of identity cards.
Dr Irshad, who completed his MBBS in 2013, had gone to Kathmandu from Delhi for a tour along with Dr Deepak and Dr Abhisuri from Vayanad.
Dr Irshad served in Vayanad for several years. After MBBS, he moved to Assam to study MD. On Saturday he had called his friends from Nepal. But after massive earthquake hit, he was not available for contact. But the officials called the family and said that he is safe at Redcross camp. Yet the family was in shock as he they could not contact him directly.
On Tuesday, family received a message saying Irshad was in critical condition at a hospital in Kathmandu but in a while the family received the news of his death.
Irshad is son of M N Shamsuddin, Anebagilu. He is survived by his three brothers Aziz(Engineer, Dubai), Dr Sadiq(Mangalore hospital) and Harris a merchant in Kasargod. Dr Irshad’s marriage was supposed to be held in July.
The mortal remains will be brought to Kasargod in few days, family sources said.
