Bantwal : Several persons sustained injuries, two of them seriously when the negligent driving by a bus driver resulted in several accidents at Kodaje near Maani on May 23, Thursday evening.Traffic on the route was disrupted for several hours following the mishap.

A private bus named Mahesh which was on its way to Mangalore, had first hit a car. This took drivers of two other cars which were behind, unawares resulting in the collision of three cars. All the three cars and the bus were damaged in  the accident.

Several bus passengers were injured in the mishap while two people who were travelling in one of the cars involved in the accident sustained serious injuries. The seriously injured persons namely  Unaid and Kasturi Shanker have been shifted to a hospital in Mangalore for treatment.

The  Vittal police have registered a case as per the complaint lodged by one Shanker who was driving one of the cars.
