NATO office attacked in Afghanistan: Youth from Udupi killed

Udupi: John Vikram Martis (34), youth from Udupi was killed on Tuesday in an  bomb blast at Afghanisthan. He working from past four years in Afganisthan as an accountant with the NATO forces under the UNO supervision.

A suicide truck bomber followed by heavily armed men stormed a NATO suppliers compound Tuesday July 2 in Kabul, prompting a gunbattle that left a dozen people dead in the latest Taliban attack on a high-profile target in the Afghan capital.


The violence began before dawn when the bomber drove a small truck packed with explosives to the outer gate of the logistics center used to supply NATO troops and detonated it, said Kabul provincial police chief Mohammad Ayoub Salangi.

He was about to leave Afghanistan on a new job in Dubai on June 28. But his departure was cancelled because of a bomb blast in the airport on the previous day. Hence he was to fly on July 4. But on July 2, he died in another blast that took very near to his place.

His family thought that since he was working inside the NATO office the risk involved was very less , but the fate had some thing  else stored . On tuesday bomb blast occured in the NATO office it self.John basically hails from  Malpe Bailakere and is  unmrried . He is now survied by his aged parents and siblings. After hearing this news two of his brothers have left to Afghanistan.

Two of his brothers are said to have left for Afghanistan after hearing the news.Deceased John Vikram is not married and a bachelor who left aged parents, brothers and sisters.
