Mangalore:The General Manager of Corporation Bank Ltd. Mr. Karthikeyan VS inaugurated the national seminar  on “Effective partnerships between commercial banks and micro finance institutions” at Besant first grade Evening College today.

Mr. Karthikeyan in his inaugural address said “For students it is appropriate to know about the future of the country since it lies in their hands. Hence every student should have a vision of what he or she is going to do in the future.”

He continued his speech saying “The development that we see is not the real development since our country is not financially independent. To be self sufficient we have to inculcate the culture of micro-finance in the rural area.”

Dr.Krishna Reddy from Apex body of Micro Finance Sector rendered  the key note address while correspondent of Besant Evening College Mr. Nagar Narayan Shenoy was the guest of honor.
The program was presided over by Mr. Kudpi Jagadish Shenoy, President of WNES.

Convener of the seminar Prof. Ishwar Poojary explained the motive behind the National Seminar.

Principal Dr. Carmelita Goveas welcomed the gathering while  HOD of English Dept. Prof Ganapathi Bhat rendered the vote of thanks.
