Mangaluru: The 64th national level Body Building Championship – 2016 will be held at Nehru Maidan here on January 12 and 13 from 5 am – 8 pm.

The event will be held under the joint aegis of Dakshina Kannada Amateur Body Builders Association and National Amateur Body Builders Federation.

Addressing the media on Tuesday January 5, MLC Ivan D’Souza said that over 250 participants are expected from 29 states for the two-day event. They are scheduled to reach here on January 11.

The winning performers will earn titles namely Bharatha Kumara, Bharatha Udaya, Bharatha Kesari, Bharatha Kishore, Bharatha Sri along with awards and cash prizes. The winners will be eligible to take part in international events as well.

Ivan informed that there are about 140 gyms and fitness centres in Dakshina Kannada and the intention of organizing the event
in Mangaluru is to provide a platform for all the budding body builders especially from the district.
