Suratkal :Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has said that already talks have been held with the Union Minister for Surface Transport regarding the problems arising out of the four-laning works at BC Road and also the issue pertaining to construction of service road. He also said the minister has responded positively and assured to solve the problems.

The MP was speaking at the DK District BJP Executive Committee Meeting held here on Monday August 11. He said a proposal for Rs 320 crores for the development of the National Highway has been submitted to the Union Minister and talks have also been held with regard to the formation of Mangalore Railway Division and upgradation of NITK as an IIT. Also the problems that would arise if the Kasturi Rangan Report is implemented as well as the PCPRI project’s pros and cons were discussed, he informed.
Nalin also assured to raise the demands for an Agricultural Research Centre and Refinery Point in the Parliament.
Kota Srinivas Poojari, MLC who also spoke charged the Congress government of neglecting the ambitious Bhagya Lakshmi Scheme introduced by the erstwhile BJP government. He also alleged that the government has failed to solve the ration card problem. He urged party workers to sensitize the voters on the issue.
