Karkala : The tracing of the  naked body of an unidentified middle aged man in the Anekere in Karkala town, has aroused much suspicion.  It is believed that the person might have had an accidental fall or committed suicide in the lake about two days ago.

The body floating in the lake was first noticed by a local youth on Thursday May 29 evening. He immediately informed the fire service  personnel. Though the fire service men rushed to the spot, entering the lake filled with slush was difficult and the task of lifting the body from the lake was abandoned.The body was extricated on Friday May 30 morning.

But  it is said a few locals on noticing the fire service men return without removing the body on Thursday night, had raised Rs 10,000 saying the amount  would be given to anyone who  would get the body out of the slush filled lake. However, the fund raisers were nowhere to be seen on Friday morning as fire service men removed the body from the lake.

Three years ago, the body of an unidentified person was found in the same lake. Though  on the basis of the shirt worn by the deceased, police suspected him to be a Keralite, till date there is no other information about him. Now,the tracing of another body  has raised much suspicion among locals.
