Mangalore: Senior Kannada poet ‘Nadoja’ Siddalingaiah will chair the three-day Alva’s Nudisiri – the annual literary meet scheduled to be held from November 14 this year at Moodbidri. This is the 11th edition of Alva’s Nudisiri.
Addressing the reporters on Wednesday, Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation said another senior Kannada writer Na D’Souza, who chaired the 80th Kannada Sahitya Sammelan held at Madikeri, has consented to inaugurate the three-day literary meet.
Dr Alva said that the main theme of the deliberations this time will be ‘Karnataka: Varthamanada Tallanagallu’ (Karnataka: Current Tribulations).
Various literary sessions based on the theme and sub-themes will be organised to cover the entire gamut of issues in its entirety, Dr Alva said, adding the literary sessions will be followed by cultural programmes spread over six stages on the sprawling campus in order to give a welcome break to the people.
While entry to the event is free for students, others will be charged a delegate fee of Rs 100, he said, adding that this fee will entitle the delegates to three day boarding and lodging facilities. Leading scholars, critics and literature lovers are expected to attend the event, Dr Alva added.
