Bangalore: The CCB has arrested actress Nayana Krishna On Tuesday October 7, who had allegedly honey-trapped and blackmailed a few doctors in the city, and had been absconding for some time now.

Nayana, who has acted in a few Kannada movies, and her associates have been accused of befriending doctors and blackmailing them after video recording their sexual act with one of the gang members.

According to police, the Nayana Krishna gang had blackmailed a doctor residing at Mulki Sundaram Shetty Nagar near Bilekahalli off Bannerghatta Road. The gang member Sanjana befriended the doctor and the duo indulged in a sexual act at the doctor’s house on June 4.

Sanjana managed to video record it and the gang members had started demanding money from the doctor. They allegedly blackmailed him that they would give the video clip to TV channels if he did not comply.

“The doctor approached the CCB police and filed a complaint, based on which Nayana was arrested in Bangalore. The gang members are already facing two similar charges. She has been remanded to judicial custody,” the police added.

It is said that the gang members have also extorted money from some MLAs and politicians, who were not willing to file a formal complaint. It may be recalled that the police were on the lookout for Nayana in a similar case reported in June and she had moved the High Court, which had granted her anticipatory bail in September.

However, a fresh case was filed against her on Saturday October 4. Her gang members – Sanjana, Mallesh, a constable, Hemanth Kumar, a video editor in a regional news channel, Sunil Kumar, a travel agency owner, and ‘Gym’ Raghu alias Raghavendra – were arrested earlier, who have been her aide in the act.
