My allegations against bishop were baseless: Rafael Raj

Mangalore :Bunder police released Raphael Raj, chief secretary of Akhila Karnataka Catholic Christara Kannada Sangha here on June 4 in connection to Fr KJ Thomas murder case.He was arrested on June 3 for allegations against Bangalore Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras without proof.

He had organised a press meet and said that Bishop is also involved in the case. He also  had demanded CBI probe into the case.

As holding a press meet is not an offence, FIR was not filed, police said. Raphael also apologised through a letter for baseless allegations against bishop.

Reportedly it is said that the associations who demanded his arrest would file a defamation suit against him soon.
