Mangalore:  A Coastal Security Policeman who was on duty   at Bappanadu checkpost in Mulki was fatally knocked down by a speeding lorry  in the early hours of April 5, Friday.

The deceased is Rajappa (27) from Honnali in Davangere. He along with three other coastal security personnel were on duty at the checkpost. Just as Rajappa was checking a vehicle, a speeding lorry knocked him down and fled the scene of the accident, Rajappa died on the spot.

Rajappa was posed  here just a year ago. He was married just one and a half years ago and his wife, a teacher, is pregnant.
Mulki police have registered a case.
