Mangaluru: She meets him in a shopping complex and falls in love with him. However, she refuses to marry him after coming to know that he doesn’t know to speak English. He takes it as a challenge and starts to learn English.

It is the story of a film ‘English.’ Though the title of the story is ‘English’, it is a Tulu film being directed by ‘Ekka Saka’ fame Suraj Shetty and produced by Hareesh Sherigar. The muhurta of the film started at Sharavu Mahaganapati temple in the presence of Odiyoor Pontiff Gurudevananda Swamiji and managing trustee of Sharavu temple Raghavendra Shastri on Monday, January 28.

Sandalwood senior actor Anant Nag is a star attraction in the movie. Pruthvi Ambar is the hero and Navya Poojary is playing the female lead in the film. The other actors are Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojraj Vamanjoor, Vismaya Vinayak and Deepak Rai Panaje among others.

The film has four songs composed by famous lyricists Shashiraj Kavoor and Arjun Luis. Music is composed by popular music director Manikanth Kadri.

Pontiff of Odiyoor Gurudevananda Swamiji, blessing the occasion and said that Tulu film contributes much to the development of the language. It also protects the culture and traditions of Tulu Nadu, he added.

Director Suraj Shetty said that the shooting will be completed in the next 30 days and the location of the shooting will be Mangaluru, Moodbidri and Udupi. Producer of the movie Hareesh Sherigar informed that it is his maiden film in Tulu film industry. “Though I have produced three films in Sandalwood, I was searching for a good story in Tulu. Fortunately, I got a good story now and I hope this film would be a success”, he informed.

Veteran Tulu film directors Richard Castelino, Kishore D Shetty, producer Sharmila Sherigar, lead actor Pruthvi Ambar among others were present.
