Ullal: A pilgrimage to Mecca turned tragic for mother and son duo from Montepadau as the two met their end in a road mishap on Khasim road in Jubail.
The two other family members have sustained severe injuries.

The deceased are Abbas (29) and his mother Khatijamma (50) from Montepadau.

The injured are Abbas’s father Mohommed (60) and wife Mehnaz (20).

Abbas was employed in a construction company in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. It was only 15 days ago that Abbas had got his father, mother and wife for Umrah.

They had embarked on Umrah journey along with four other members of his friend’s family.

On Sunday, they were all returning to their accommodation in Jubail after completing the holy pilgrimage when their vehicle hit the divider on the road, killing Abbas and Khatijamma on the spot.

Abbas was married to Mehnaz only six-months-ago.

Minister for Health U T Khader paid a visit the deceased’s family at Montepadau on Sunday.
