Udupi :A quarrel over a small  issue led a woman to allegedly kill her daughter-in-law at Mogoli village near Shiroor in Kundapur taluk on Monday.

According to the Byndoor police, there was a quarrel between Nagaratna (60) and her daughter-in-law Chandravati (30) over a sari.

The police said, in a fit of anger , Nagaratna, who is a tailor, stabbed Chandravati. A severely bleeding Chandravati ran out and fell in the courtyard of the house.

Neighbours took the unconscious Chandravati to the government hospital in Byndoor, where she died. The police arrested Nagaratna.

Chandravati’s husband Manjunath Achari is a carpenter working at Sirsi and he returned to Shiroor upon learning of the incident. They had three children who were playing in neighborhood when the incident took place.
